Global Gang is very careful to protect the identities of children using this site, so that strangers cannot find or contact you.
When we use your stories or letters:
* We never give your surname, just your first name and age
* We never give your address, we just give the town and country you are from
* We always get permission from parents or guardians before putting your photos on the website
* We don't give the name of schools unless we have been given permission
When you sign up to get a user name and password for our message boards:
* We only ask for an name and email address, which we do not display on the message boards
* We do not allow children to leave their email addresses on the boards
* We look at messages posted on the boards carefully, to make sure that children are not swapping personal information that could be unsafe
When you sign up to get our monthly e-zine we only ask for your name and email address, which we will not share with anyone else.
SAFE - Staying safe involves being careful and not giving out your name, address, mobile phone no., school name or password to people online.
MEETING someone you have contacted in cyberspace can be dangerous. Only do so with your parent's/carer's permission, and then when they can be present.
ACCEPTING e-mails or opening files from people you don't really know or trust can get you into trouble - they may contain viruses or nasty messages.
RELIABLE - Someone online maybe lying about who they are, and information you find on the internet may not be reliable.
TELL your parent or carer if someone or something makes you feel uncomfortable or worried.
